Location
Very simple. I was on my porch!Time
It was between two and four in the afternoon, in very strong sunlight.Lighting
The depth of shade behind the flower is due to the sunshine blazing at the heliochrysum, which was in a low pot next to a wall.Equipment
This photo was taken with a Fuji Finepix digital camera, with 12.5 mp. Fuji allows for quite steady and detailed macros, just using a hand held camera.Inspiration
I love flowers, and the straw flower, called an "everlasting flower" because it dries and preserves at it's ripe stage, looked very inviting.Editing
There is no point here, just wysiwyg. (If you are relating to English as a second or third language, wysiwyg stands for what you see is what you get)In my camera bag
Batteries, battery chargers (one for the car)telescoping tripod for outdoor use, a couple of sd cards, a rubber lens cleaning instrument, and a bandanna I keep forgetting to use as a sweat band, so it's new.Feedback
Sometimes life is just beautiful, exactly as you find it, but I suggest that your floral shots will appear richer and more true to form in strong summer light if you reduce your aperture to about 2.8 or a few degrees higher.
