Island Beach State Park is a beautiful barrier island in the central part of New Jersey. It is not only home to some of the most exquisite beaches and sand dunes on the east coast, it also is home to a few skulks of Red Tail fox.
Interaction between fox and humans is frequent but also too intimate. Park scientists studying these interactions fear that the fox will begin to be too dependent on humans for food. We regularly read warnings, from park officials, of the detrimental effects of this practice.
On this given day I was able to capture this majestic creature with the use of a 600mm lens on my Canon 5D Mark ii. Although I was quite a distance away I felt a a very close connection to this animal as his eyes made direct contact with my lens.
