Location
I took this photo at Elizabeth Beach, NSW. Elizabeth beach is a holiday destination. At the time of my visit, it felt like a secluded experience as the holiday season was over and most of the houses were empty.Time
It was a perfect day, in September around 9am. The weather conditions just right to create a stream of amber water flowing into the sea. Behind this view are tea tree bushes and the oil from these bushes create the amber in the water. So, this is fresh water flowing into the sea. I was lucky to be there at the right time, after rain fall the day before. With nobody around I crouched down with my little point and shoot camera and took the shot. I did not have any fancy equipment, it was a hand held shot and I remember trying to be steady to get a clear shot, using my breathing to do so.Lighting
I am an amateur photography and wish to be better. The sun was up so the lighting was not optimal. I often use my camera in manual mode which has limited ISO, Speed and aperture settings. It also has a bit of a disability after I tried to take a photo through a glass window once, not realising the window was there. The window was so clear and I was so focused on the view that I crashed into the window. Consequently, taking photos like this one, crouched down, is a bit of a challenge as the camera flicks through the menus from time to time and I have to tap it to make it stop. lolEquipment
I love my little camera. It's a Sony DSC-HX50V. Unfortunately, it only takes JPEG photos. This photo is ISO 80, speed 1/160 and F/5.6.Inspiration
I was inspired by the tranquility of the scenery, the gently flowing stream of tea tree oil meeting the sea and how lucky I was that the sand shifted in such a way after rain fall to create the stream.Editing
It was a few years ago now so I am not remembering exactly, the lighting was changed a bit to make richer the colour. I don't have anything like lightroom or photoshop so I am always limited in what I can achieve. In my camera bag
I wish to have more diverse equipment. Only have a little camera in its case.Feedback
I think you can get great shots by crouching down for a different perspective. I try to capture what I'm actually seeing so that I can share the experience, rather than taking a photo to show where I am, I like it if others can get the feeling I'm experiencing at the time.
