I took this picture in the Barnyard Buddies area at Milburn Orchards in Fairhill, Maryland

Time

The golden hour, just before sunset

Lighting

These are both rescue animals. Pancho is a deaf miniature donkey and Cappy is a one-eyed blind miniature horse

Equipment

I didn't have my camera with me so I used my Samsung Galaxy S5 cell phone camera and mini tripod

Inspiration

Cappy has beautiful red hair and the late afternoon sun played beautifully in her mane

Editing

I always use Snapseed when I edit my cell phone images. I decreased the "highlights" and increased the "shadows" to compensate for exposure

Ive only been doing this for under a year so i only have a Canon 70d and the kit lens.

Feedback

I'm a novice so my best advice is to keep taking pictures. Try various settings and see which ones work best in your specific situation. Having the sun directly behind the horses head gIves the mane a "glow"
