Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photo at one of my favorite spots in a municipal park less than a quarter mile from my home. This is Rittenhouse park in Newark, Delaware

Time

About an hour or so before sunset

Lighting

Yes, the sun at this time of year, mid to late October, places it setting into the river, so to speak. The leaves of this beech tree were golden yellow and as the sun shone through them, they were illuminated and glowed this amazing red color.

Equipment

My 30 year old Pentax A3000. Unfortunately, that camera died after it got wet a couple months later

Inspiration

It's my favorite spot in the park and I'm trying to get shots during every season for a college im making for my mother

Editing

Yes, just a bit of exposure compensating and I lowered the color saturation a bit

In my camera bag

Canon 70D, 50mm 1.8, 70-200 4.5-5.6, 10-16mm wide angle, and some extra batteries, memory cards, various ND filters, mini tripod and Schultzie (Glock 43).

Feedback

Timing and persistence. I hike this park quite a bit so I know the area well. I also know when is the best time of day for optimum lighting
