Returning home from shopping in Poulton le Fylde at around 16:30hrs I could see the sunset in the distance as we got closer to home. It was all a mad rush to get the shopping in the freezer and my Nikon D3100 prepped so we could walk the 5 minutes or so to the ferry jetty at Knott End in order to grab some shots. This one was my #PhotoOfTheDay
As I was setting up the shot, hundreds of birds were making their way across the estuary towards the marshes a little further along the coast ready to settle down for the night.
