Donna Nook has one of the largest Grey Seal breeding colonies, in Europe. So far this year over 1200 pups have been born and the season is not even at its half way point. Last year over 3000 pups were born. Donna Nook os on the Humber Estuary in the North East of England, near the seaside town of Mablethorpe in Lincolnshire. It is managed by the Lincolnshire Wildlife Trust. This photo shows one small area of the colony.
Grey Seals return each year to give birth and to mate. The two peak months for breeding are November and December.
