The day I took this, the winter sun was just setting and gave a warm light to the head and front of this Mute Swan. Also the relections of the sun made this a shot to take.Equipment
Canon EOS 5D iii using a Canon EF 24-105mm L lense. The settings were - ISO 500, F4.5 on Aperture Priority. This gave a shutter speed of 1/3200, which enabled a sharp picture.Inspiration
I have a love of nature and macro photography and have always been inspired by the work I've seen by excellent photographer on a Facebook Group which is for Amateur and Professional Photographer from Lincolnshire (for which I am a member and Admin).Editing
I use Photoshop and PSE to basically crop and adjust white balance. This shot was cropped and had minor white balance and contrast adjustments. In my camera bag
My Canon 5Diii and a Canon 7D ii. I usually carry either the 24-105L or Canon 100mm L 2.8 macro, along with my Canon 100-400mm L. Sometimes I also take a Canon Flash and ring flash for macro work.Feedback
Patience and keep looking for that special shot. I often find myself going out to shoot a certain scene or animal and come home with totally different shots. It's amazing what is around you, all you have to do is see it and photograph what you see.
