Location
I took this photo in my 93-year-old friend's backyard. She loves, loves, loves her birds and often invites me in to watch with her. Easton, MarylandTime
The photo was taken in mid day.Lighting
There was full sun this day, but it was behind me.Equipment
I use three different cameras (Canon 80D, 60D, and T6i) I think the 60D was used for this photo along with my tripod and a wireless remote. When the birds head came out of the house, I just started clicking and never stopped until the bird was gone. I ended up with shots at various angles coming from the house. Was very interesting. The camera was set on automatic sports action.Inspiration
Wildlife is my very favorite thing to photograph. Listening to my friend's interesting stories about these bluebirds and how much they entertain her made me readily agree to share her "watch" this past spring.Editing
For some of my photos, I use purchased topazlabs.com programs to bring out just a little more "DETAIL". And for this one, I used purchased photobacks.com products to replace the background with similar colors.In my camera bag
In my bag, I'm never without batteries, memory chips, UV lenses, Polarizing lenses, brush/cleaning cloths for lenses. I almost always have two cameras with me at a time to avoid changing lens when needed. For instance, my Canon 80D has the Canon 100-400mm lens attached and my Canon T6i has the 18-200mm attached. Sometimes, it's visa-versa. Even water. suntan lotion, bug repellent, chair or stool, and umbrella. :-)Feedback
To me, advice to advance your photography, you have to slow down, have much patience, and mainly LOVE what you are doing. If you love what you are doing, you'll definitely get better as you'll be your biggest critic. AND remember: practice, practice, practice.
