Behind The Lens

Location

the photo was taken in Carvoeira, Portugal. This day was a super full moon day. I was coming back from another location chosen in advance and was coming when I looked in the rearview mirror and thought it would make a good photo. I had to wait for a moment without cars and enjoy it while the moon was still low. Not the best time but I took the picture

Time

It was taken at night a few minutes after the sun went down and the moon appeared in my field of vision.

Lighting

Not being the best time of that day to photograph the moon, which was already a little high and with a lot of light because the sun had already set, I just had to worry that the street and moon lights would not be too bright.

Equipment

This photograph was taken with my old canon 7d and the canon 100-400 telephoto lens. I used a tripod to be able to do a longer exposure

Inspiration

This photo was not thought out. It was a lucky moment. I was on a motorcycle when I looked in the rearview mirror and thought I liked the moment and the frame. I stopped the bike, waited for no more cars to come and enjoyed the moment

Editing

Yes, since it is a longer exposure I had to be careful with the light

In my camera bag

When I took the picture, I always used the Canon 7d, Canon 100-400mm and Samyang 8mm that alternated with the Samyang 35 or Sigma 18-35mm. Then I switched to the canon 7DMII and now several years after that photo was taken, I switched to the Sony A7 RIII and I always walk with the Sony 200-600mm and the Sigma 24-70mm and of course the beautiful Benro tripod

Feedback

I don't like to give advice but I can say that if there is an opportunity, I didn't think twice about taking the picture, just take the material and shoot. The maximum that can happen is to eliminate the photo and always serves as another learning moment since there are not two equal moments. I think so
