This woman sat thusly at the famous steps at the 'La Defense' office complex on the outskirts of western Paris, and I photographed her solely among the steps for a very successful photo, when this young man came by and sat exactly where he is depicted and looked like he wanted to approach her, but she was unaware of his presence. Ultimately, he decided not to approach, got up and left, and he never saw him or knew of his presence or (what I think) was his apparent intent, which he did not carry through, which made me wonder 'what if he had done what appeared obvious to me he was mulling over?' and surprised her? Would his approach have been welcome? Would if have changed their lives forever if he was welcome? Wondering .. . .
