Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken from a tour boat guiding us around Milford Sound on New Zealands’ South Island

Time

It was a sunny albeit crisp early afternoon and the Sound was as still as the crew had seen in a long time, allowing us to make it all the way out to meet the ocean.

Lighting

The sun was directly overhead, however the cliffs were casting shadows when we cruised closer to their edge and rainbows were being cast in the waterfalls that cascaded down their sides.

Equipment

This photo was taken on an iphone 6.

Inspiration

The overhead sun just seemed to illuminate the water ahead of us and highlights it’s stillness and the snow capped mountains in the background.

Editing

As it was taken on my iphone, I simply used the phones standard editing features.

In my camera bag

I always have my phone camera ready to snap at a moments notice (now iphone 11Pro) However, on holidays I also take my Sony Cybershot that shoots in RAW. For purpose Landscape and Portrait photography I use my Canon 6D Mark II,2.8,24-70mm lens and also a wide angle lens and tripod

Feedback

I am a very opportunistic photographer!!!!! Moments, memories and photo opportunities for that matter only happen if you are out there exploring with your camera handy........so go out and explore as much as possible.
