Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken during a yearly event in Buenos Aires, all the museums are open at night so people can visit them for free, this one is outside the Mercado de Las Luces in downtown Buenos Aires.

Time

This one was taken around 7pm when we stared walking around seeing which museums had the least amount of people in line, sadly most them were full of people.

Lighting

I wanted to enhance the textures of the cobblestones without additional lightning other than the street lights. Since I took it I've gone back a couple of times to see if I can get a different shot, but the ones I've captured don't evoque the same feeling.

Equipment

In this one I only used my camera Canon 650D and the kit lens 18-55mm.

Inspiration

I've always loved cobblestone paths, they always take you back in time when there were wagons and horses.

Editing

Yes, as always with most of my pictures I elevate the contrast very high, I adjusted the white balance so it would get a warmer feeling, but just a bit and that was it.

In my camera bag

Currently I have my camera Canon 650D with a 50mm f1.8 lens and a couple of batteries, it's quite simple but that's is what I carry around pretty much always.

Feedback

Buenos Aires has a lot of cobblestone streets, mostly around downtown, it also has a lot of old buildings with gothic or byzantine architecture and they clash with the modern buildings around them. Search for those streets and get a low angle, focus at a middle point so you can capture more of the surroundings.
