Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken at a friend's house, he has a balcony and it overlooks a small cliff with a few trees. It was a Super Moon night so I took my camera and my tripod just in case it was a clear night.

Time

It was a late night in 2011 it was around 8 pm and we were playing some games and drinking a few beers. This picture has become one of my all time favorites and has been commented and liked in many sites.

Lighting

Since it was a Blue Moon I took it with a Fluorescent White Balance so it would get that blue color and look more mystic.

Equipment

This was shot on a Canon PowerShot S5 IS mounted on a tripod.

Inspiration

I've always liked to take pictures of the moon it represents an element that is very mystic and important for so many cultures.

Editing

No it is as I took it that night. I didn't know any post-processing at the time I took this picture.

In my camera bag

Currently I have my Canon 650D with the standard lens 18-55mm, also I have a Canon EF 50mm f/1.8, 2 batteries, a Black Rapid RS-7 Camera Strap and a Opteka HD2 0.20X AF Fisheye Lens I got a while back for the Canon PowerShot S5 IS I had before. I learned a lot with that PowerShot, I still have it, I couldn't get rid of it for sentimental values hehe

Feedback

Actually it was a very lucky shot I didn't planned it before I got there and saw the whole setting, that's why I pretty much carry my camera always with me. Specially on celestial occasions.
