Behind The Lens
Location
This photo was taken in the comfort of my home, in Cape Coral Florida. I am the type of photographer that enjoys experimenting with ideas in the most simplest of places.Time
This photo concept was meant to be done as soon as the sun went down and there was much contemplation about the process of doing this at such a time because of the limited experience I have had with night time photography. This is something I constantly wish to experiment with and working with various angles and lighting to fit the perfect shot I needed was a challenge which I very much enjoyed.Lighting
The end result of the lighting done in this image was everything I hoped it would be. My assistant and I attempted various lighting ideas in order to get the final result. From phone lighting to small starry lights, the challenge is half the battle and that's usually where the fun begins.Equipment
This image was shot with a Canon T6s, a 18-135 lens and a tripod. No Flash was involved, but various lights were used as well as a few props and Halloween costume.Inspiration
This image was inspired by one of my favorite horror films, The Nightmare of Elm Street. The most inspiring ideas come to me through films and books that hit me on a higher emotional level that I could imagine. When creating a project such as this one, the feeling of putting myself in a whole other world, especially one that I fear, turns my inspirations into a reality of happiness and accomplishments.Editing
The majority of the post-processing was created in Photoshop and was surprising not as complicated or time consuming as I initially expected it to be. There was minor editing with the lighting, color adjustments and saturation. The medicine container was the main portion of editing. In my camera bag
My Canon T6s, standard lens 18-135, 40mm, 50mm, Wide Angle lens, multi colored laser lights, lens protectors and plenty of SD cards.Feedback
The best advice I could give anyone interested in creating something similar to this piece is to take what inspires you and dare to experiment, to create. Try new things, even if they don't work, keep trying. The best part of experimenting with photography is learning new things on your own and being able to actually take your ideas and bring it to life or even expand it into other ideas. The possibilities almost seem endless!
