Location
This photo was taken down the street from my precious family Home. I would constantly drive by this patch of trees and old bark constantly thinking of the photos I could take in this spot.Time
After the continuous thoughts of taking photos here, my best friend got together fairly early in the day, got dolled up and walked over a couple hours after noon descent.Lighting
There was honestly no though process in the lighting of this image, I wanted to make sure I was in enough shade that shadows would take away from the straight on angles of my pose.Equipment
This image was shot on a canon T6s, lens EF40mm f/2.8 also known as the pancake lens! This photo was taken with natural lighting.Inspiration
I was simply inspired by the prop in hand. I wanted to create a balance to best interpret the vintage camera and being in a natural state that best shows the same level of expression. I’m not sure if that’s something that could be understood, the best way I could put it is this, I’m one with the camera and photography is one thing that brings me peace.Editing
The majority of my post-processing was the conversion from color to black and white. I find myself entranced by black and white photography and I wanted to give my image more dramatic depth. In my camera bag
My bag has EVERYTHING, when I say everything I mean all the equipment I currently own. From my smallest lens (being the 40mm f/2.8) right down to my Tokina AT-X 116 PRO DX II 11-16mm f/2.8. I’m grateful to have the small variety of lenses I own and I only hope I can one day experiment with others.Feedback
My advice would be to listen to yourself when you see and feel something, you might just end up with the perfect shot that means something to others. Don’t just take the photo, feel it.
