Behind The Lens

Location

I'm pretty much self taught and one of my favorite places to take pictures is sunrise at a little park call Domer Park in Eau Claire Wi

Time

It was early fall right in the morning as the sun was starting to rise, around 6am. I had taken a few shots in other parts of the park but found a little hill that looked out over the river that had the perfect reflection.

Lighting

I took several pictures and none of them were as brilliant as what I was seeing live. I finally decided to I might have to enhance the color in editing but I was finally able to get the correct setting to capture this. I find that a lot times what I see with the naked eye is so much more that my camera can capture.

Equipment

I just used a Nikon DS5300

Inspiration

Sunrises and sunsets are always my inspiration

Editing

Occasionally I will enhance the color just to get what I was seeing with the naked eye

In my camera bag

I have my Nikon and just 2 lenses.

Feedback

My advice for anyone wanting to take great sunrise picture is to scout out places you want to see and make sure you know where the sun will come up. This will help eliminate places where trees or buildings will block the soft colors of the sunrise. The best advise, make sure you get there before the sun rises so you can get the entire event.
