Location
The photo was taken at Mullins Beach, Barbados. We've spent a wonderful two-week holiday on this unique island which is full of surpises, friendly peoiple and magical sunsets like this one.Time
thisphoto was teken at 17:58. As you may know Barbados is vlose to the Equator, which means that sunset happens rather quickly. At 5 p.m. the sun is high, than it starts to hurry towards the horizon, it sets (at this time of the year) about 5-5:10, and - that's unique - it's totally dark at 6!Lighting
We were there just before the hurricane season- That means that beautiful clouds and cloud-formatiuons were visible throughout the two weeks, but it was mostly sunny. In the afternoons we regularly saw clods - like the one on the photo - close to the horizon, far from us. The sun's light came through the different clouds and formed wonderful lights, colours, rays..Equipment
Sony a99 (SLT-Á99V), Sony Zeiss 24-70/2,8 (24-70 F2,8 ZA SSM) handheld, no flash, no tripodInspiration
The wearher inspired me all the time during our stay. Extreme colours, smells, light all the time, I couldn't put my loved Sony aside! After one and the half weeks locals called me "man with the camera"..Editing
Minimal PP, just some noise reduction and clarity boost. No need for anything alse, the photo speaks for itselfIn my camera bag
A Sony a99II, a 24-70/2,8 Zeiss, a 16-35/2,8 Zeiss, a 50/1,4 Zeiss and a 70-200/2,8. Plus the flash (HVL-F60M), filters, cleaning stuff, wireless flash commander, charger, spare batteries..Feedback
Be patient in siutations like this! Magic will happen in front of your eyes, believe me! And - that's my personal choice - don"t "burst" long series of photos, wait for the precious moment instead, but be ready all the time!
