It's been one year since that final adventure with Layla. That canoe trip down Pine Creek on 10.22.15 was the most difficult and the most meaningful paddling trip I have ever been on. Giving Layla that final chance to breathe in the fresh air and enjoy the outdoors. After the last few days looking uncomfortable in the house, she looked at peace and relaxed.
Her collar still stays with me. Today, I took Sadie to Rosecrans Falls to enjoy the outdoors in the memory of Layla.
