I spent a day this week up in the Mourne Mountains and couldn't resist a play in the river. The conditions couldn't have been better as I only had a 2 stop ND filter so the storm clouds rolling around the mountains kept the sun at bay and let me capture the flow of the river. I opted in this shot for a shorter exposure time to get a bit more action in the water rather than a standard smooth flow. The little whirlpool in the foreground was an added bonus.

Location
This is taken up in the Mourne Mountains on Northern Ireland. Taken on a stormy morning hike in the mountains and using a 1 second exposure to capture the flow of the water.Time
Early morning to allow me to slow things down and avoid over exposureLighting
I always have to pick the right conditions because if its too bright you don't get the right amount of time to get enough movement before over exposure becomes an issue. This day was stormy so the cloud cover and conditions were perfect.Equipment
Nikon D810 with a 3 Legged Things Tripod and circular polariser.Inspiration
I love capturing water and its affects and love to hike in the mountains so this was a love affair from start to finish.Editing
Just a little in Lightroom but aport from that very littleIn my camera bag
I have switched recently to Sony but was primarily a Nikon user. D800 D810 and their 24-70mm F2.8.Feedback
Take your time and just be prepared to experiment.
