Behind The Lens

Location

This was taken in the village of helmsley in North Yorkshire.

Time

Taken early morning after a period of extreme cold and heavy snow.

Lighting

The lighting conditions were perfect and the naturally diffused light enhancing the background and bringing out the details in the Cow's hair.

Equipment

Nikon D7000 and 105mm F2.8

Inspiration

I love these beasts and was shocked to see them in the snow fields. I climbed into the field to get close and was rewarded with this image. She had a calf too so I count myself lucky.

Editing

I did very little to this apart from a little sharpening and contrast of the hair.

In my camera bag

I now carry a D800 24-70 F2.8, 70-200 F2.8 and a 3 Legged Thing Tripod
