Behind The Lens

Location

San Tan Village, Gilbert, Arizona

Time

This is one of my favorite imagines. This is a late afternoon in October of 2016, so I was very lucky to have the sun to my back. Though I would have loved to have the vehicle in full shade, it wasn't an option due to the location.

Lighting

I wish I could say I was able to do something great with the lighting, but I was limited this day on equipment and was forced to utilize only the ambient light from the Arizona Sun.

Equipment

The funny thing about this imagine was I caught it with my cell phone's XT1565 camera, as I didn't have my camera bag or associated equipment with me that day.

Inspiration

This was a happenstance imagine of a vintage 1940 Ford Pontiac US Army Staff vehicle, while out with friends. Though the folks I was with wanted to move on, I was so moved with the beauty of this vehicle and the care taken to ensure it was in pristine condition wouldn't allow me to move past it without capturing it's beauty and toughness of the US Army during the WWII.

Editing

In the case of this imagine I really didn't do much post-processing. Other than taking the color of the imagine to black and white, nothing else was needed.

In my camera bag

Normally I carry a Nikon D5600 camera in my bag with a assortment of lens and filters.

Feedback

The Arizona Sun can be very harsh on any imagine often burning out colors, so capturing an imagine is best done early morning or late afternoon.
