Don't mess with a male Lion when he's not quite ready to mate. That's what appears to have happened here when this female approached him during their mating cycle. It was really interesting watching the interactions between the different lions in this small pride. After a few minutes the male approached a second female for mating. After they were done the male moved aside and the two females nuzzled each other. On a side note, this also illustrates how well lions are camouflaged in this environment.
