Location
This photo was taken in southern New Brunswick. This is my dog George who loves to run which in turn gives me the opportunity to practice action shots.Time
This was taken around 10am and the sun was still at an angle which cast a an interesting shadow of the subject!Lighting
The sun was behind me and the subject running towards the light. I was able to use a fast shutter speed to freeze the action but still maintain enough aperture to give a good depth of field!Equipment
This was shot with a Nikon D3100 and 18-75mm f4.5 lens.Inspiration
I am always looking for good locations where George can let loose and run about. A white white dog running down an open snow covered trail was a fun challenge!Editing
I did very little post processing, reduced brightness and added a little highlight protection from the snow.In my camera bag
My favorite lens which is always on hand in my 300mm f4 pf ed. It is light for a telephoto lens and fast enough where I do not need to pack a tripod. I also use a 18-75 mm f4.5 and a 50mm f1.8 which enable me to capture great nature images which I enjoy the most!Feedback
As an outdoor enthusiast and nature lover most of my photos are taken in the country side. Walking old country roads and abandoned railway lines gives one plenty of opportunities to see nature and it's beauty. Morning and early evening will give you the best light and also is the time when many animals and birds are very active increasing your chances of a great capture!
