A beautiful and gentle creature, crossing over some wild coffee tree plants, central Sri Lanka. Locals mistakenly believe that vine snakes use their pointy heads to strike a person in the eye, hence the name "Ahaetulla" which means "eye" and "Nasuta " that means "plucker". Nothing could be further from the truth, and although these snakes have a mild venom, they are not very aggressive and allow plenty of handling.
