Location
In Yellowstone along the Madison river in the late afternoon. It was a serene scene with the fly fisherman and the bison quietly feeding along the shoreline in Wyoming.Time
Late in the afternoon, which gives a dramatic touch to man and beast.Lighting
The backlighting on the fly fishing line adds to the dramatics of the afternoon and image. Along with the connection of man and the wild.Equipment
Canon equipment noted on metadata.Inspiration
The connection with humans and wildlife co-existing in such a beautiful location. Yellowstone has so much to offer for all. The lighting was an important part.Editing
I soften some of the grasses towards the back third of the image. There was a lot of seedlings in the air and were distracting by the backlighting. In my camera bag
For wildlife photography I usually carry a Canon 500mm and a 100-400 with gitzo tripod with wimberly head. This gives me the stability needed at times. Plus with this combo it covers most of the lens range needed. My body of choice I’d the Canon 1DX. Love that camera!Feedback
Anytime working around wild creatures it’s imperative to give them their space and respect the boundaries between you both. Lighting is always first on my list. Timing is everything to a great image. Knowing your subject can bring insight on behavioral traits which can make an exciting or loving image.
