Behind The Lens

Location

This was taken In the city of Venice, Italy

Time

this was taken around midday, the sun was blazing hot, and shadows were sharp.

Lighting

This is all just natural light. there was a nice strip of sunlight in the canal as a gondola drifted through.

Equipment

I used a Nikon 7100, with a nikkor 18-200, good all round lens for travel

Inspiration

Venice itself inspired me, inspiration was everywhere! In this particular shot, the gondola lined up perfectly with the background, and the lighting was pleasing.

Editing

I did some basic RAW white balance correction, added some contrast to give the shadows more depth.

In my camera bag

I currently always have my trusty Nikon D750, with a 50mm 1.4, and a 24-70mm with spare SD cards and batteries.

Feedback

Wait for the right moment! when visiting a new place, its easy to because overwhelmed and start over shooting everything without much thought, but i recommend pausing, and waiting for a composition to appear in front of you, but dont miss the shot!
