I traveled to a village called Kasol in Himachal Pradesh, India on the eve of New Year in 2015. I camped there by the Parvati river and was lucky enough to get a clear cloud cover and get a glimpse of the Dhauladhar Mountains.

Location
In short, in the lap of Himalayas. Sitting by the banks of Parvati river on one of my excursions in Himachal Pradesh, IndiaTime
New Year's eve. It was around 6 o'clock in the evening and I went for a stroll by the flowing river and took my camera along.Lighting
It was getting darker each moment and I wanted to grab this opportunity to get this environmental shot. It was a winter evening and the river water was extremely cold, so I post-processed this to have a blue tint which goes by the actual mood at the time I captured this one.Equipment
Nikon D5100 with 18-55 mm lens. Hand-HeldInspiration
I have always believed in the age old anecdote that, 'Nature is perhaps the best artist to ever exist', and nature is what inspired me to go out and shoot this one. Moreover, I have always been inspired by long exposure landscapes by various fellow photographers and wanted to give it a short. Hope you liked it :)Editing
Yes, minor adjustments with contrast and a blue tint to reflect the overall mood in a better way.In my camera bag

Landscape photography is a hard art to practice and perfect. Especially, long exposure requires long durations of commitment to the photograph you are trying to make. All in all, Patience is the key.
