Behind The Lens

Location

Lake Wilderness, Covington, WA

Time

11:00 am

Lighting

I shot this at a park with lots of tall Evergreen trees that shaded the squirrel with sun peeking through the branches.

Equipment

I used a Nikon D5000, with an 18-55mm lens.

Inspiration

I love wildlife in general, and even squirrels have personality, if you watch them long enough they'll do things you wouldn't expect to see and if you've got a camera ready to shoot you can catch their personality.

Editing

I did very little, a little cropping and some back lighting that's about it.

In my camera bag

D5000, with a couple lenses and tripod in case I really need to be still.

Feedback

Take your time, have your camera ready( check your ISO,F/stop, pay attention to the natural light or the lack of, and use a tripod, sit on the ground and just watch what's going on around you). If you spot a subject matter you want to photograph just watch it through your Lens until you see your subject do something that you want to catch on camera, then shoot.
