Location
The photo was taken at the nothern beach of Vejby Strand in Denmark.Time
It was sunset at 21:00 (9 p.m.). I stood in the ocean and the waves were pretty rough. So it was a little battle protecting the tripod and the camera during the 30 seconds exposure time.Lighting
Many of you know, that the time is very limited when you take 30 seconds exposures at sunset. It takes some pictures to get the right settings. I moved the camera close to the water surface. So I was a little bit worried about my gear ;) I was very lucky that the sunlight hits the rocks in that moment.Equipment
This was shot on a Canon 5D Mark III, with the 16-35 F4 IS USM on a Tripod with a 1000x nd filter and a 30 Seconds exposure.Inspiration
I was on vacation in Denmark and my house was very close to the ocean. It would be a shame to not have taken that picture.Editing
I used capture one for processing the raw file. In photoshop I increased the saturation and got rid of some sensor spots. In my camera bag
My alltime camera workhorse ist a Canon 5D Mark III with a 16-35mm F4 IS USM and the 85mm 1.2 USM. I usually have a 1000x nd filter and a polar filter in my pocket. Sometimes i carry the 135mm 2.0 USM with me.Feedback
The weather at the seaside changes very fast. The sky was full of clouds a half an hour before I took that picture. Always be patient and be ready to react on changing conditions. Look carefully at the movement of the sun, so that you can plan your composition. And always clean and dry your tripod when it stood in saltwater! ;)
