I was lucky to reach this tiny island just before sunset, so I had time to find a good location for shooting the remaining light and colors of this day.

It’s a densely populated island with no room to spare from what I could see, and as it is a flat island they have a severe problem on their hands - erosion! The mangroves seen in this photo have all been planted by the islanders, and together with adding mass to raise the reef, they hope the beaches will remain as they are for a long time. I’m not sure what the poles are fore, but probably part of the ongoing work and maintenance to protect the beach and island from erosion, or to build a small jetty.

On my way back to the boat a large coral snake was on its way up the beach and into the thickets - probably to lay eggs! A beautiful and dangerous snake – fortunately I look carefully wherever I go, so I did not disturb it.

I don't know the name of the island, and cannot find any help from Google.
