Location
My favorite getaway place: Îles-de-la-Madeleine, Québec.Time
People make it a daily tradition to go to this spot to watch sunsets. Our family was fortunate enough to rent a house close to the lighthouse. My kids loved to go to the edge of the cliff in their pyjamas to watch. Precious times.Lighting
The sunsets are breathtaking at Magdalen Islands, with the red sand formations and pristine skies and sea.Equipment
I think it was a first gen Vivitar, maybe 1 or 2 mpx tops. It was pretty efficient in low light. Goes to say you don't need a Bomb camera to capture moments.Inspiration
So many pics of sunsets from the venture point where you can see people waiting for the ultimate dusk moment. But my favorite pictures are of other subjects affected by it, the uniqueness of the light at each moment.Editing
Sunsets there so beautiful that it undermined the subject for this picture. The B&W version works best for me here, suggesting a magnificent sunset moment, but putting emphasis on the shared innocent moment. In my camera bag
I choose a lens for the day, pop it on and shoot. Constraints bring creativity.Feedback
Try to live the moment you are trying to capture.
