Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken on a range road close to Red Deer Canada

Time

This is one of my favorite images, I got up early that day, checked the weather report. Everything looked good for a nice fall photo. No too much sun but just enough to some reflections and some blue sky to ad color. The time of day was close to 9:00 am

Lighting

I just wanted enough light to cast some shadows and highlight the Autumn leaves.

Equipment

I used my Nikon D3300 camera and my 18-55 kit lens.

Inspiration

I was just looking for a great shot to show the Autumn conditions around my area. I need the right balance of light, overcast and best of all color.

Editing

I did very little post processing. I shot RAW always, so there is some need for adjustments to color, contrast, highlights, and shadows. I use a few different programs for post processing. Photoshop CC, Photoshop Camera Raw, Photoshop Lightroom, and trying out a new program to me which is ON1.

In my camera bag

I usually carry in my bag, Main camera Nikon D3300 Nikon 18-55 Kit lens, Sigma 70-300 with macro polarizing filter, uv filter, and my tripod.

Feedback

Just look for what either interests you or tells a story. Not always easy to do but with practise anything can be achieved. The more important this to help get the shot you want is light but not too harsh, interesting subject, and color. All those elements will bring a great photo together. The great thing about digital cameras if you don't like what shows up in your lcd display just delete it and try again.
