Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photo at Point Reyes lighthouse in Palos Verdes.

Time

The model was with a group of us who had gathered for a photo shoot. It was late afternoon and she was facing sort of north west.

Lighting

We did have some reflectors but I did not use one on this shot.

Equipment

I used a Nikon D70 with an 18-70 kit lens. No flash. Handheld.

Inspiration

The pose and the sunglasses seemed to go together for that classic “Hollywood” look.

Editing

Went to b&w in Lightroom on it to enhance that classic style.

In my camera bag

Now I am using a Nikon D500 with a 16-80 kit lens. I have a Nikon 40mm macro,a Nikon 10-20 wide angle zoom and a Sigma 150-600 telephoto zoom. I also use a Godox v860ii speed light and a Mefoto lightweight tripod

Feedback

Photo shoots are great fun and gives you a chance to try out new techniques without a lot of cost.
