Location
Crown Hill Cemetery in downtown Indianapolis. Crown Hill contains 25 miles of paved road, over 150 species of trees and plants, and over 225,000 graves. Crown Hill is the final resting place for individuals from all walks of life, from political and civic leaders to ordinary citizens, infamous criminals, and unknowns. Benjamin Harrison, twenty-third president of the United States, and Vice Presidents Charles W. Fairbanks, Thomas A. Hendricks, and Thomas R. Marshall are buried at Crown Hill. Infamous bank robber and "Public Enemy #1" John Dillinger is another internee. The gravesite of Hoosier poet James Whitcomb Riley overlooks the city from "The Crown".Time
This photo was taken about mid-day with a partly cloudy sky. My son and I spent a few hours at the cemetery photographing many of the great sites and architectural wonders of Crown Hill.Lighting
I love the gothic look of the church so I chose to use black and white for its photo of the church and graves of military veterans.Equipment
I used a Nikon D40X and the standard short lens. I don't like carrying anything but my camera.Inspiration
I love shooting in cemeteries and other isolated places. This huge cemetery is humbling. I imagine all the lives of those who rest here, all just as important and exciting as our own. I am a nostalgic person. I don't want to live in the past but I would sure love to visit it.Editing

I normally just carry my camera and two lenses, one short and one long. I don't like being encumbered by anything else.Feedback
No advice really, but I would like to suggest that taking photos on less than clear and sunny days can sometimes produce a great mood. I think framing/composition is important but generally don't follow most of the "rules" of photography.
