Beautiful motion shot. I think its a swallow tail but the left bit is missing which in many ways makes it a better shot. Pity they don't live long Well Done Paul

Location
While on vacation in New Orleans, I learned of the Audubon Butterfly Garden and immediately drooled in anticipation. I imagined an enormous castle, full of awe-inspiring butterflies just waiting to be captured by my camera.Time
It was early in the morning. The Butterfly Garden was my very first stop that day. I had a bit of trouble sleeping the previous night, as I was anxious to find out if I could capture that beautiful butterfly shot of my own.Lighting
I only used the indoor lighting that was already available.Equipment
I used my Cannon 7D Mark II and 55-250 mm lens.Inspiration
I am relatively new to photography (3 years), self-taught, and very much still learning. I have seen so many beautiful close-up pictures of butterflies, and when I learned about the Butterfly Garden, I was extremely anxious to try to capture a gorgeous close-up shot of my own. I was distressed however, when I discovered just how humid the room is kept. I quickly realized that my time frame was going to be limited before the lens fogged up. After searching the room fervently, I knew I had my shot when I saw this little guy.Editing
Again, I am relatively new to photography and I haven't really jumped into this area yet. I still like the idea of my pictures representing just what I saw at that frozen moment in time. The only editing that I have done to any of my pictures is minor cropping to get the image just right. In my camera bag
On that day, I planned to spend the entire day walking, so I only took my light-weight 55-250 mm lens. Normally, I would also have my 18-55 mm, 85 mm prime, and L-Series 100-400 mm lenses.Feedback
As I'm still learning myself, it is so important to be conscious of the conditions and environment surrounding your shot. And, in the case of butterflies, be prepared to react quickly. They don't hold their pose for very long.
