This invasive plant is called a Mullein. One plant can produce up to 100,000 to 180,000 seeds in a season. It is classed as an Herb, poisonous to many mammals, but Woodpeckers must love the seeds!! Thanks for the information Gail (mihrt).

Super, Cher! I love these little ones and how they are figuring out what they are supposed to eat! :)

Wow Cher, your Woodpecker is on the same plant the image of my woodpecker is on. It is called Mullein, an invasive plant but very interesting. One plant can produce up to 100,000 to 180,000 seeds in a season. It is classed as a Herb, poisonous to many mammals, but I think the Woodpeckers must love the seeds!! An excellent capture Cher!! I found the day I got a few captures, the woodpecker was not really interested in me but more interested in the plant. Well done Cher!

Perfect frame and composition Cher and how the blueness of the sky makes the Woodpecker stand out!
