Thank you for entering my 'In the Spotlight' Challenge. I love this shot. Shot contre jour with that single spotlight, you have managed to capture a great silhouette of the microphones and yet retained the detail in the guitarist. Definitely one of my favourites...

Behind The Lens
Location
This picture was taken at Silverstone Race Track during their Classic weekendTime
This was taken during an evening concert. It was dark at the time.Lighting
The lighting is supplied entirely by lights on the stage, the darkness around the artist emphasizes the artist and helps make the image.Equipment
Canon 5D MkIII with a 100-400mm canon "L" series lens. Hand held.Inspiration
I just loved the effect that the light in conjunction with the smoke made.Editing
I converted the colour image into monochrome and decreased the noise. In my camera bag
Depending upon the event a mixture of Canon camera bodies 5DmkIII, 7D MKII and a mirrorless M6. I own lots of lenses, most canon zoom "L" seriesFeedback
Just make sure you get the light reading correct. I used spot metering and checked the reading with the histogram
