Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken at the tremenheere sculpture garden near Penzance in Cornwall - a fabulous place. The monks that used to inhabit St Michael's Mount actually farmed there!

Time

It's late afternoon.

Lighting

no

Equipment

Just my sony dsc-rx100m3

Inspiration

After visiting the garden, we have a cup of coffee and cake (it has an excellent cafe!) and I see the sculpture - a big stone slab made of cornish slate - and wonder if I can get St Michaels Mount lined up with hole in the middle. It takes a few attempts as the hole is about 2 metres up. After a few attempts holding the camera above my head and on my tiptoes and firing off some shots - I manage to get the image I want.

Editing

I usually just apply the mac photos enhance feature (then decide whether I think it looks better) and then crop the image.

In my camera bag

I always just have my sony camera and iphone

Feedback

Just follow your instincts and try it out - even if you look a bit mad trying to get it!
