Behind The Lens

Location

Taken in the garden of a house during an overseas vacation.

Time

During a rainy day when you couldn't really go out, sometimes the gorgeous stuff are just right beside you.

Lighting

I wanted the image to look like as if it were diamonds that is hanging on the spiderwebs, luckily the gloomy rainy day still manage to let me capture the sparkling of the droplets.

Equipment

This was shot with a 5DmkIII with a 100mm macro lens on a tripod.

Inspiration

On a gloomy rainy day, it really isn't a good day to head out for anything. So I decided to explore the environment around me, and it didn't take long to notice the beautiful water droplets that hangs on the spiderweb between the flowers.

Editing

Due to a lack of equipment and a gloomy day, I decided to do a little post-processing to bring out the colours to make the picture more vibrant.

In my camera bag

Normally I just have a Canon 60D and the 2 pancake lens that Canon has.

Feedback

A tripod is extremely important for such macro shots, the extremely shallow depth of field really almost makes it impossible to get you shot tact sharp while handheld. Also it would be great if you could back lit the water droplets so that it makes them stand out even more.
