Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken in a home made studio. I have all my studio equipment that can be easily packed, so I can shoot at different locations.

Time

This friend, in that photograph was telling me that he wasn't really photogenic. So I told him to be ready the next afternoon and I show up with my camera and equipement to do a shoot.

Lighting

I'm working with two spot flash. Usually one for the back drop and one for the subject. Used a reflector to open up some area

Equipment

This was shoot with a Nikon D90, a 50 mm lense and two flash

Inspiration

I love portrait and black and white photography. I just talk with my subject and take what they gave me to reflect a mood or a caracter trait that i'm perceiving.

Editing

Most of my photography is in b&w so I edit them but never do a manipulation I wouldn't be able to do in a dark room.

In my camera bag

My Nikon D99, a nikkor 50 mm, a 70-300, a 18-105 and 10-20 mm lens. I also carry a lightmeter and some filters. But if I don't carry my bag i'm still always have my phone with me ! Incredible what you can do with just that :)

Feedback

Since this particular picture is taken in studio. I had the time to prepare the shoot and play with the lightning. So don't be shy to even sketch a plan of what you want. In studio you have the control of the elements so take advantage !
