This picture was taken from my hotel room in Sorrento. I find this picture especially interesting since the cross is either representing Jesus on a cross or someone who has had an influential life on others. With Jesus on the cross it is showing that he is looking down from the heavens looking after the people of Sorrento and the whole of Italy. In addition with a person who has had an influence on others they can be showing great respect but also that this person is always looking down to the people they have effected in a good way and is guiding them to greatness.
I adore on how the cloud is placed. The edge of it is just behind the cross and the rest of the cloud is on one side of the mountain; this creates a darker, more dull side on the right of the mountain.Plus the cloud makes the picture seem slightly misty giving a great effect towards the image.
The contrast in colours makes everything - especially the cross- standout.giving us the chance to see all the features in this image at a high quality and vividly.
What also makes this effective is that because i'm not in line with the top of the mountain when taking this phot, it means we get to see every little detail going up the mountain
