Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken at a wedding that was held at a golf club in Guelph Ontario

Time

It was around 4:00 in the afternoon

Lighting

Lighting is just natural ambient light. The interesting thing is the rim lighting formed by the dark void created by the grooms men standing, huddled below him.

Equipment

I used my Nikon D750 hand held with a sigma 35mm lens

Inspiration

This is my take on a photo that totaly inspired me that I saw on line.

Editing

Oh yes I added mauve to the sky to complement the outfits as well as some sharpening and contrast.

In my camera bag

My Nikon D750 a 35-1.4 a 70-200-2.8 and a 85-1.4 a couple of radio slaved speed lights, and a 500 w/s battery powered portable.

Feedback

Its always exciting to try new things at whatever is your choice of venue. I do weddings and I am always on the lookout for ideas to try. If they are challenging or technical I will try them out on my own, or with friends first. These guys just loved it, I had to lay on the ground and shoot up, it took about 3 takes trying to get him in the frame as well as the fear of him falling right on my face. The focus was a bit soft but they were ecstatic, so I was happy.
