Behind The Lens
Location
Up in the north of the Serengeti National Park, TanzaniaTime
The shadows from the tree show that it is round mid day, a good time for animals to be hiding up and sleeping.Lighting
With the near equatorial sun there is almost too much light.Equipment
I used a Finepix SL 300, hand held.Inspiration
Opportunity is the greatest asset with wildlife and being prepared to take what luck you get.Editing
I don't like messing with images after their taken and spend more time taking lots of shots to get what I want in the final image. In my camera bag
Just the Canon and a 75 to 300 lens.Feedback
The Serengeti is one of the truly greatest places to see an photograph wildlife, unspoiled and as created by nature. Although some areas get very crowded there are still huge areas away from the crowds where you can take your time and get great shots.
