Behind The Lens

Location

For 6 years I lived in a renovated labourer's cottage on an organic apricot farm in the Great Karoo in South Africa. The area is generally very dry, rocky and sparsely covered in unusual and unique vegetation. I planted a few sunflower seeds from the mix we fed our chickens and this beauty grew, attracting the local bees and standing out as a beautiful alien.

Time

Early morning round 7:00am when the sun has just risen above the rim of the neighbouring mountain and the light is great.

Lighting

Great time of day for natural light the baths everything in its gentle rays.

Equipment

Canon EOS 600D, Hand held.

Inspiration

Nature at her best a glorious statement of connectivity, the simple but beautiful.

Editing

untouched.

In my camera bag

Just this camera, I travel light and make do with what I have.

Feedback

I tend to see the world around me as a wondrous collection of potential photographs just waiting for the right conditions to make an amazing memory.
