I had ventured out early one morning to find 10 Great Egrets and a few Blue Cranes fishing in a large, rather shallow pond. We have been lacking much needed rain. I started by taking an overall photo to capture the moment, and then decided to stay in one spot and watch and photograph the catch. I would move occasionally to other spots and again watch and wait. It finally paid off, as I shot numerous catches and chases as a number of the Egrets were successful. They didn't seem to mind that I was there. When they had their fill and had cleaned their feathers they all left, one after the other. What a nice morning shoot.
