A lone Monk seal resting in the middle of the afternoon on a beach on the island of Kauai. She has been coming to nearly this exact spot every day for a week or two as of this photo and is one of only 1100-1300 in the world. Most live around the Hawaiian islands but there is a small colony in the Mediterranean sea as well.
