Superstition mountain. Taken last August when the outside temps were 117! It was late in the afternoon and the Sun was also directly behind my back which causes the whole mountain to glow -for about two minutes.

Perfect view of the Superstitions with the open road adding a unique perspective., Great lighting and dramatic monsoon clouds make for a beautiful scene.

Thanks! This just happened to be an unbelievable day to be out taking photos. And there were random storms popping up here and there all over the Superstition wilderness behind the mountain.

amazing light.. Something looks weird in the sky, maybe some filter went wild..
But the original is just perfect, I am sure. Perspective is great and it mos have been some 40ªC or more.. Thank God there is a downpur up there !

Thanks for the comment, and yes, it was VERY hot -especially stooping as low as I could in the middle of the road. As far as the sky goes, it IS a 3 shot HDR image (0, +2, and -2 exposures) taken shortly after 6 pm with the Sun DIRECTLY behind me lighting up the whole mountain face.
