Behind The Lens

Location

This was taken at a rental property she was staying in on her trip in South Florida.

Time

We arranged to shoot in the afternoon indoors and then outdoors as well.

Lighting

She has an attractive look and body. I wanted to show off the scene in the background with her looking into the audience.

Equipment

Natural lighting was used from door frame windows with a Canon 70D and Canon 16-35mm lens.

Inspiration

When we chose to shoot I had a few ideas for looks that I wanted to capture and this one appealed to me from this group.

Editing

I slightly adjusted the contrast in this photo, adjusted the clarity a bit to give it a softer touch, and shadowed the background so she would stand out.

In my camera bag

My Canon 16-35mm 1.8 lens has been my go to for shoots indoors as well as outdoors, the Canon 85mm 1.8 prime for great clarity and bokeh, and Canon 55-250mm for distance.

Feedback

You want to attain 3 types of shots. Close up, medium, and long range to show off the person(s) and scenery/location. For close shots I love using rule of thirds and focusing on the subject and blurring the rest slightly.
