Location
This photo was taken on my holiday to portugal. I went there with a friend, and this is her cousin we were allowed to stay with for a few nights before heading to the Acores.Time
We were hanging out at their pool, right after an intense game of card games,at around 4 PM. After swimming, we were talking, and I decided to take a random picture of her, out of nowhere.Lighting
it was a pretty bright afternoon sun, but we were shadowed under a fence. All natural light. Completely spontaneous shot.Equipment
This was shot with my Canon 40D using the Canon 50mm 1.8 lens.Inspiration
I noticed she had really beautiful eyes, as if to dwell far away in it. The eyes were the inspiration on itself.Editing
I cropped it, to just the eyes. I added some contrast, made the eyes pop a little bit and removed some red-eyes. Nothing really much.In my camera bag
I usually pack my canon 40D, the 50mm lens and the 17-85 lens.Feedback
Don't be afraid to try different crops, or to take spontaneous shots. People may be a little awkward afterwards, but at least it's all natural, as most people try to pose when you want a picture of them.
